NYC for the Jena 6

Greetings,

Attention all folks in the Big Apple! NYC-area people are looking to organize a protest in your city related to the Jena 6! (I, Lydia Bean from FOJ, will be in the area on August 15th and 16th, so if you have it then, I’d love to join y’all!)

If you’re NYC and want to take action for the Jena 6, please contact Shannon Reid, whose message is posted below:

grace and peace,
Lydia Bean

I just found out about this today, and feel compelled to take some action. I’m in Brooklyn, NY and would love to connect with anybody in the area that’s interested in organizing some action here in NYC.

Please e-mail me at sreid03@gmail.com if this applies to you.

Thanks, and to everybody – keep fighting the good fight!

  6. Hi my name is lauren Im only 14 years of age so im not sure if im capable of protesting with you. {Advice that might help}While in NYC get in contact with the 100 black men in law, i beleive that is the name. Then you need to contact the NCAA. Maybe you can this case to the civil courts, im pretty certain what those white boys did violated serveral amendments , i believe the 1 amendment. You may be able to take this to the supreme court. The Jena 6 were acting in self protection and nothing more. I will pray for all of them. Please use my advice I hope it will help. Please contact me eloheim1@optonline.net to let me know you have read my comment.

  7. I really don’t know how I can make a difference but if there is anything I can do as a sister from BKLYN, NY, please let me know –when & where. I have a son, whose JUST 2 yrs old. But I see his face in these young men. And I am outraged!!! I feel the anger these families must be feeling. I want to prevent this from happening to my son – your son – our Young Black sons! Mothers get your boxing gloves on – we have a judicial fight on our hands!
